We Nerd Out Vol. 45: “Worst Or Best Date Ever”, A Short Film Review by Chelsea on DATE FROM HELL

Editor’s Note:  Heavy metal frontman Ven Scott of RUNESCARRED(ex-Dead Earth Politics) has completed his directorial debut for “Date From Hell”.  The film was created over three nights in Llano, Texas and is inspired by various horror films of the 1980’s.  Here, Chelsea took some time to review “Date From Hell” via Madness To Creation.  Check out what she had to say below:

“Date From Hell” is a bloody good time for anyone who loves the horror genre. With a short running time of just under 12 minutes, this film is not short on the scares. Written by Ven Scott and Tracee Beebe, we are kept on edge from beginning to end with a story that makes you feel like you are right there with our main characters Susie and Bobby on their wild date in a small town set with dive bars, abandoned buildings, and secrets around each corner. With excellent performances by Ava L’Amoreaux and Samuel Brett Howard, you are taken on a roller coaster ride with terrifying character development that is sure to give you tingles down your spine. Great scares followed by fantastic practical special effects, the film is a visual feast for your eyes. All of these elements give us the feel of the slasher/stalker subgenre we all love with that 80’s camp feel and a wicked twist that will keep you glued to the screen. I was definitely not disappointed in this film experience and it would be a treat to see at any film festival. I think we can all relate to Date From Hell in some way.
