“White Lighter Myth” by Southpaw is Out Now, on Tour with Hold Close and Crooked Teeth!

Southpaw is a three-piece alternative/pop-punk band, residing just 30 minutes outside of the bustling Grand Rapids city center, in the hard-working suburb of Muskegon, MI.

The band’s latest LP ‘White Lighter Myth’ is out now on LA-based Anchor Eighty Four Records.

‘White Lighter Myth’ was engineered by Brandon’s (vocals/guitar) own brother Aaron Eikenberry, mixed by Scott Goodrich (TSSF, Culture Abuse, Slowtrip), and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Saosin, Moose Blood, The Plot In You), with artwork by Sam Dunn (Trash Boat, AFI, Mastadon).

No stranger to hard work themselves, Southpaw self-released their bold debut album ‘Eye To Eye’ in 2014, and then again in 2016 with their EP ‘Away Like Sheep’. Their knack and gift to meld ear-splitting riffs mixed with heavy rock anthems, and insanely catchy choruses quickly landed them invites to open for the likes of A Day To Remember, State Champs, Neck Deep, and Less Than Jake.

Shortly after climbing their way up in their local and regional scenes, Southpaw signed with Los Angeles based indie label Anchor Eighty Four Records. Since then the two have partnered to release Southpaw’s most exciting release to date, ‘White Lighter Myth’, that debuted on February 9th 2018, and saw the band head out on a U.S. tour with juggernauts, Sleeping With Sirens earlier this year. Now back out on the road, Southpawplayed their first Los Angeles gig last night at Emo Nite at the Echo/Echoplex and kick off another tour with Hold Close (Hopeless Records) and Crooked Teeth (Rude Records) on April 7.

The vision that I have for this site was that I was getting weary of sites that evolve from the original message to what I refer to as "tabloid magazine stand at the grocery store checkouts" kind of sites. My heart is with the underground bands and for the bands/artists that strive to hit that dream, and they spend thousands of dollars on equipment just to play a $100 show! Please contact me and I will review you. I promise to bring you quality news, interviews, and reviews. I have a master's degree and the madness that you're creating in your art is what I'm passionate about! Feel free to contact me, I respond to all emails and to all comments on here! I am an open book! If you see a suggestion on how to improve the site, please make me aware of it! This is YOUR site. I am also in search of writers!
