                                              “Hellbound” by Buckcherry Review

This band has hit the reset button as we all did with the pandemic.  They recorded some hot and scintillating tracks for “Hellbound.”

The song “54321” shows that Buckcherry is back and not messing around.  It’s like they got in a time machine and went back to when the 70’s were all about making dirty, filthy, and gritty classic guitar rock and added the Buckcherry twist to it.  “So Hott” and “Hellbound” shows Buckcherry at their absolute best and that is Buckcherry turned up to 11.  The guitar riffs Stevie D lays down are blistering and Josh Todd sounds as gritty and dirty as ever in his vocals. “Gun” shows Buckcherry in a new light and that is “foot-stomping” Aerosmith-style riffs and includes a brilliant falsetto with Josh in part of the chorus.  The mental health moment that we want to highlight is “Wasting No More Time.”  This is quite honestly one of the most heartfelt tracks ever written and recorded by Buckcherry.  The listener can feel the pain that the songwriter is going through in the song and it really talks about how we need to move forward in life.

Blistering riffs, soaring choruses, and a total swagger.  This is Buckcherry in a nutshell. They are coming out of the pandemic like a caged tiger being released to the wild with “Hellbound.”.  If you thought Buckcherry lost momentum, think again.

Buckcherry Concert Review- Live from Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines, Iowa (6/12/2021)

It feels like it’s all over.  After 15 months or so, people are getting out, having a good time and embracing life again.  The past 15 months were moments of reflection and clarity, and Saturday night felt like a major release as Buckcherry with special guest Of Limbo took the Val Air Ballroom stage in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Buckcherry came out and went right into it with “So Far.” They played like they’ve been waiting forever to play a show.  Despite the smaller crowd, they gave it all they had with their infectious energy, witty banter from Josh Todd and hard hitting riffs and rhythm section.

The crowd went into it hard with “Ridin'” and “Lit Up.”  Josh shared a funny story about the first time he got “lit up” on an Ouija board and how it was a scary night.

The songs “Too Drunk” and “Sorry” got the crowd singing along and the ladies went off with their smash hit “Crazy Bitch”, and the night ended in a unique fashion with the song “Dead.” The song served as a battle cry that rock is definitely not dead and Buckcherry and Of Limbo gave the crowd a good time with their music.  This is what music is all about, forgetting your problems for an evening and just having a good time, and that’s the mantra of Buckcherry and they carry that mantra with them to the nth degree.
