Editor’s Note: Legendary roadie Chad Ward joins us on the 49th episode of the Madness To Creation Podcast. In this episode, Chad discusses how he founded the Roadie Relief Fund, which helps roadies and those in the music industry with expenses incurred during the Covid-19 pandemic. Far too often, we don’t think about all that goes into a concert. Sometimes we think the ticket money goes directly towards the band. That couldn’t be further from the truth. The band/artist has many expenses to keep the machine going. They have to pay for venue rental, they might have to sell an x amount of tickets in order to break even, and they have to pay for roadies who set up the concerts, along with soundboard people and tour managers, public relation agents and the list goes on and on. Chad breaks down the day in the life of a roadie and his friendship with the Foo Fighters and 311. Chad also shares a hysterical story of that time Foo Fighters trolled the Westboro Baptist Church!
This is an absolutely worthy cause to donate to. It’s strictly a non-profit cause with money raised going to help those roadies directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. For a lot of these folks, this was their line of work. Please make a donation to www.roadierelief.org. You’ll be glad you did.
