Editor’s Note: It was an absolutely lovely conversation that Madness To Creation Podcast had with Joshua Humlie of We Three. Joshua is the drummer/keyboardist/programming extraordinaire for this sibling trio out of Oregon. It has been beyond impressive to see them grow from their showstopping performance on America’s Got Talent, which led to a deep run in 2018 on that show, to seeing them on stage once again for the “Dear Paranoia Virtual Show”, which took place on January 23rd. Fans got to have the option to enjoy the livestream show along with a Q&A session with the band.
The performance felt like I was actually there and it overwhelmed me. As someone who was just getting familiar with their music and after having this amazing conversation with Joshua, I felt connected to their lyrics and to their music. The harmonies of Manny, Bethany and Joshua lifted my spirit. Their songs captured hearts and helped provide healing to so many that are feeling the brokenness and loneliness from the pandemic and the social/civil unrest that occurred in 2020 and on January 6th, 2021. Their musicianship and energy were inspiring during this night. Songs such as “Sweater Weather”, “Nightlight”, “Secrets” and “Heaven’s Not Too Far Away” gave me a revelation about We Three. We Three is a community and through their performance the band gave one massive hug to all of us that we are going to get through this together and everything is going to be okay. Thank you We Three, we hope to one day rejoice and celebrate with you when concerts return in person again.
