(Video Premiere) “Vamo A Dale Duro” by GHETTO KUMBE

Check out the track that got featured on NPR, Billboard Latin American and BBC Latin American Radio!  Ghetto Kumbe premieres “Vamo A Dale Duro” with Madness To Creation!  The song combines Caribbean house beats with Afro-Colombian rhythms inherited from West Africa.   Edgardo Garces offers his take on the track below:

“Estamos pasando por momento difícil, el pais patas arriba y el sentimiento de impotencia cada vez más grande, vamo a dale duro es grito de resistencia, es un aliento a nuestra gente, por eso en nuestros videos estamos en el pueblo, en el barrio, con la gente , con nuestra gente, la verdadera cara de colombia, nada de maquillaje, nada de locaciones rebuscadas, esto es la realidad, donde está la gente  que nos necesita.”
In English, Edgardo Garces offers this translation:
“We are going through a difficult time, the country is turned upside down and the feeling of helplessness is growing, we are going to hit it hard is a cry of resistance, it is an encouragement to our people, that is why in our videos we are in town , in the neighborhood, with the people, with our people, the true face of Colombia, no makeup, no elaborate locations, this is reality, where the people who need us are. ” .

News on Ghetto Kumbe:

Today, Ghetto Kumbé have announced their upcoming debut LP, Ghetto Kumbé will be released May 22nd via ZZK Records. In the midst of political uprisings all over the world, Ghetto Kumbé release their first single “Vamo a Dale Duro” as a sonic protest of the injustices caused by class divide.

Ghetto Kumbé bring political content to an Afrofuturism mixture of sounds that spread between Latin America, Africa, and Europe. The track’s hard-hitting yet light-hearted beat is highlighted by an ominous toll, signaling a call to the people to defend their rights and land. The gaita, a traditional instrument originally played by the indigenous people of Colombia’s Carribean coast, provides a smooth, melodic background layer to lyrics of resistance and African-influenced drum breaks. Oliver Williams aka The Busy Twist (UK) adds his own touch as co-producer of this track and those to come on the upcoming album on ZZK Records. The pre-Order for the upcoming LP is available here.
