Weekend Brunch Edition Vol. 16: Weekly Spotify Playlist plus News Shorts: Super Bowl Weekend Edition

Editor’s Note:  Welcome to the 16th edition of Weekend Brunch Edition Weekly News and Spotify Playlist via Madness To Creation!  January is finally over with and we are gearing up for the big game between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.  As we have been crazy busy with our work weeks, we are celebrating the weekend!  We crack open some eggs, fry up some steak, and enjoy some brunch.  But wait, we missed out some music news and you might be wanting some new music to check out!  Well, Madness To Creation is your hookup, holler if you hear us!  #SorryScottSteiner  So, after you put away the Halloween decorations, sit back and relax and enjoy this weekly Spotify playlist. It is broken down into the following categories:

  1.  Meat & Taters:  This is where the heavy hitters come in to play.  The main course if you will.  Chances are you’ve heard of this group.
  2.  Light & Fluffy:  This is where a band/artist might come off on the lighter side of music.  Where you might have a potato pancake with the glass of OJ.
  3.  Tailgate:  Because you can’t wait til lunch or supper so these bands/artists get you in the mood to tailgate and party over brunch.
  4.  On The Side:  These bands/artists are brand new(well to us anyways) and you might put a little on the saucer to give it a try before diving into the meat & taters!

Meat & Taters:

  1.  Beartooth are giving back in a huge way!  The band have released a new t-shirt, which is a Los Angeles Lakers edition of “Snake On My Back”.  100% of the proceeds will be going towards the Mamba 3 fund, the band and all of us are affected by the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, and the other 7 on that helicopter this past Sunday.  Check out the t-shirt here.
  2.  KAYZO and Lil Texas have collaborated for the latest single “Rules of the Game”.  Fans can check out the single here.  Kayzo’s tour kicks off March 27th in Denver.
  3.   Meg & Dia have released a deluxe version of their critically acclaimed album “happysad”, which is out now via Pure Noise Records.  Fans can check it out here and Meg & Dia continue their tour tonight with Amber Liu in Chicago.
  4.  fredo disco have released their music video for “Harmony Korine(The Game)” .  Fans can check out the music video here.
  5.  Cobi have released his powerful single “No Way Out”.  The song addresses mental health and fans can check it out here.  Cobi is critically acclaimed as Spotify’s #1 viral hit artist.
  6.  The Juliana Theory will be performing at the 12th annual LAUNCH Music Conference & Festival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Friday, May 1st.  Check out the throwback video for “Do You Believe Me” here.
  7.  Doom icons Candlemass have announced upcoming release for EP “The Pendulum” via Napalm Records.  Check out the lyric video for “The Pendulum” here.
  8.  Cheat Codes tap Trippie Redd, blackbear and Prince$$ Rosie for new single entitled “No Service In The Hills”.  Fans can check out the track here.
  9.  We Sell The Dead composed of members of In Flames, Firewind and Spiritual Beggars have released their music video for “Across The Water”.  “Black Sleep” will be released on February 21st via earMUSIC.
  10.  Symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum have released their music video for “Marching On Versailles”.  Fans can check out the music video here and “Chapter 1:  Monarchy” is due out April 3rd via Napalm Records.
  11.  PHONY PPL & Megan Thee Stallion released the single “Fkn Around”.  Fans can check it out on all available platforms here.

  13.  ZZ Ward released the music video for “Break Her Heart”.  ZZ will be kicking off her tour with Patrick Droney on February 17th in Portland, Oregon.
  14.  Viral rap sensation $not taps Maggie Lindemann for music video for “Moon & Stars”.  Fans can check out the music video here.

Light & Fluffy:

  1.  Americana singer/songwriter Bradley Arthur Maxwell released his music video for “Alone”.  The video seen here takes on how people are glued to their phones instead of being present with one another.
  2.  Indie pop duo Calloway Circus premiered their music video for “Kind To Myself” via Substream Magazine.  Fans can check out the premiere here.
  3.  Singer/songwriter Tyson Motsonbocker premiered the single “Come To California via Atwood Magazine.  Fans can check out the premiere here.  “Someday I’ll Make It All Up To You” is due out February 14th via Tooth & Nail Records.  Tour with Colony House kicks off February 14th in Athens, Georgia.
  4.  YouTube sensation Elise Lieberth have released her album “Invincible”.  Check out the music video for “Forgive” here.
  5.  New York city electronic pop artist Miranda released her music video for “Stay”.  Fans can check out the music video here.
  6.  Mountain folk-rock band Whitacre released their music video for “Here, Again”.  “Seasons” is due out April 27th and they have a gig on February 28th in Denver.   Check out the music video here.
  7.  Singer/songwriter Jonathan Freeland has released his new single for “I Left My Heart In Powder Springs”.  Fans can check out the single here.
  8.  American Idol alum Ethan Payne released the single for “The Moon Over Georgia”.  Fans can check out the single here.
  9.  Cory Becker will be releasing his debut album entitled “One” on February 21st.  He has a gig this Tuesday in Los Angeles.
  10. New York singer/songwriter Rachel Lynn premiered “This Winter” via Parade Magazine.  Fans can check out the premiere here.


  1.  Alternative punk rock band The Beautiful Mistake are back with “Memento Mori”!  Check out the video here and the song is featured on Loudwire’s Weekly Wire playlist!
  2.  Hard rock band Black Heart Saints released the music video for “Misery”.  Fans can check out the music video here.
  3.  Death metal band Vitriol premiered their drum playthrough video for “Legacy of Contempt” with Sick Drummer.  The band will be out on tour with Vader beginning February 4th in San Diego.
  4.  Chicago rockers The Jab have released their single for “Dank Mississippi” for February 5th release “Consume”.  The band will be touring with Crobot beginning February 5th in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Fans can check out the single here.
  5.  St. Louis hip-hop/rockers Discrepancies have released their music video for “Control”.  Fans can check out the music video here and they have a gig tonight at The Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois.
  6.  Canadian rockers Selfish Things have released an alternate version of “Torn”.  The band is out on tour with Have Mercy beginning February 5th in Boston.
  7.  Germany’s Elder have announced an April 24th release of “Omens” via Armageddon Shop.  The band will be touring with Bask in North America beginning May 6th in Brooklyn.
  8.  Tanya Donelly and the Parkington Sisters have announced an August 14th release of “Covers”.  The band is composed of Tanya Donelly, who founded Breeders, Throwing Muses and Belly.
  9.  SHVPES released their music video for “Hot Head”.  Check out the video here and they will be embarking on 2020 Shiprocked starting today!
  10. Out of the ashes of Bullet For My Valentine, Still Remains and Throw The Fight comes Kill The Lights. They have signed with Fearless Records and have released their music video for “Shed My Skin”.  Fans can check out the video and single on all platforms.
  11.  Cannibal Kids have released the track “Voicemail” for upcoming release “deadheads”, which is due out February 21st.
  12. Irish/U.K. band Officer have released their single for “Pylon Moon”.  “Night Tennis” is due out February 28th.

  11.  Mr. Elevator released music video for “Sylvia”.  “Goodbye, Blue Sky” is out now via Castle Face Records and they have a gig February 19th at Soda Bar in San Diego.
