We’re Not “Dreaming”, VHS COLLECTION Did Release Their Single!

3 min read

Brooklyn based electro-rock band VHS Collection has released their new single, “Dreaming.” PRESS HERE to listen and check out Atwood Magazine‘s first look of the track.

The infectious and euphoric new single, which Atwood Magazine calls ” an anthemic celebration that revels in seeing our hopes realized and our fantasies become reality,” was written during one of the band’s lock-in sessions in a rented AirBNB in Los Angeles where they set up a home studio for three weeks. “The song does feel in some ways an extension of Retrofuturism,” VHS Collection shares.

VHS Collection’s debut album, Retrofuturism ( PRESS HERE to listen), provided listeners with a more crystallizing look at their direction, lyrically touching on themes including isolation, love, escapism, and patriotic skepticism and reflecting the production wizardry of Chris Zane (Passion Pit, St. Lucia)and Tony Hoffer (The Kooks, Phoenix, Beck) . PopDust referred to the record as ” a call back to the soulful rock ballads of the 80’s, and featuring pulsing synths and plenty of reverb, clearly hoping to mentally lead the listener onto a neon-lit dance floor among a throbbing crowd of big hair and body glitter.”

Since forming in 2015, VHS Collection – comprised of longtime friends Conor Cook, James Bohannon, and Nils Vanderlip – has garnered over 65 million streams globally with key placement on US and Global Viral Charts, Netflix’s YOUYounger , Shameless,  NFL’s Sunday Night Football , WWE’s  RAW , and the FIFA World Cup . The trio has garnered praise from Consequence of Soundfor their  beckoning, rubbery synths and a funky, disco flair ” while Entertainment Weekly was enamored by their technique of”meshing elements of rock and electro.” Known for their high energy live performances, the band has made festival appearances at Lollapalooza , Austin City Limits , Governors Ball , and Bunbury Festival in addition to traveling supporting acts such as Bloc Party and Powers.

VHS Collection will be kicking off their headlining Retrofuturism Tour on February 12  at The High Watt in Nashville, TN (including sold out shows in Seattle and San Francisco) and will wrap on March 23  at Irving Plaza in New York. “We’re excited to be releasing this one right before our tour starts. We’ll be playing in 24 cities on this tour and will be playing ‘Dreaming’ as part of the set,” said the band. VHS Collection will also be performing at Firefly Music Festival on June 23 .  For more information, visit .
