Madness To Creation

Where Insanity and Creativity Collide!

(Video Review) “Superstition” by BIZOU

2 min read

Out of Los Angeles, California comes a five-piece band that sounds absolutely intriguing.  This band is Bizou.  Bizou showcases how to contrast light with the dark, color with black and white, and happiness with doom and gloom in their sound.  They have recently released their music video entitled “Superstition”.

Bizou is composed of Marisa Prietto on vocals, Nicole Fiorentino on bass/vocals, Erin Tidwell on drums, Nicki Nevlin on guitars, and Josiah Mazzaschi on guitars/programming.  They playfully declare their sound as “gothic kids going to the beach”.  With that contrast I described, their video reflects just that.

“Superstition” looks like your standard performance music video, however, the contrast of the darkness in the lighting with the multicolor lights as the rhythm section kicks in does a nice job of displaying that contrast that Bizou possesses in their music.  The chorus showcases nice harmonies between Marisa and Nicole.  There is definitely that mix of gothic and psychedelic feeling in the music video.

Flirting between the sonic feelings and the themes that Bizou conveys, Bizou provides that nice striking balance that would unite the gothic kids and the street kids into one enjoyable ball of fun in their music.  The programming and the synths in the chorus provide that nice balance.  In turn, this video is so freaking fun!  Madness To Creation rates this a 9 out of 10 stars.

On Saturday, March 9th, Bizou will be playing at the Flying Burrito Festival at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona.  For tickets and further information on the festival, click here.
