It’ll “Be Alright” Declares THE DANDY WARHOLS featuring JESSICA PARE in Music Video for Upcoming Release “Why You So Crazy”

The Dandy Warhols have updated the exclusive offerings in their PledgeMusic campaign for their new album, ‘WHY YOU SO CRAZY‘, and they have also released a brand new cut of the ‘Be Alright’ video, once again featuring Mad Men’s Jessica Paré, and this time in regular video format for users without VR headsets. This follows the stunning 360º video the band released last month.
The PledgeMusic campaign will now feature/include:
– A special set of 4 patches; each Dandy Warhol has their own limited edition patch
– Limited edition 25th Anniversary Patch, plus black guitar strap
– A Dandy will play or sing on a track for your project. Send them the files, or plan to have them join you in the studio, or gather up 20 of your closest friends and have the band play at your house
– Have the band leave you a message on your phone. They can wish you a Happy Birthday or leave your outgoing message for you
– Handwritten Lyrics: pick any song in the band’s catalog and they will handwrite the lyrics and autograph for you
The release of the bands’ 10th studio album will see the band return in singularly freewheeling fashion, careening through classically off-kilter psych-pop (‘Be Alright‘), high country-fried Americana (‘Motor City Steel’), and gothic piano-propelled rumbas (Forever). Packing in references as far flung as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Don MacLean’s Chevy, and the church of Bowie’s ‘Modern Love,’ these 12 songs reflect the band’s surrealist visions of an alternate reality.
“Back in 2002, the Dandy Warhols bought a ten thousand square foot building in what was then industrial NW Portland and created The Odditorium, a place that soon became their band headquarters, recording studio, and hang out for them and all their friends and fellow artists,” says Moyer. “I’ve been there many times and it is such a cool and ethereal place, full of psychedelia and gothic touches and auras, that it just makes your head spin trying to take all of it in as you walk through the unique rock n roll space. So what better way than to use a head spinning media format to take the viewer on a magical journey through the Dandy Warhols own space and sound, with the new single ‘Be Alright’ making things exactly that along the way.”
“We’ve always been driven to create art with emotional clarity,” says Courtney Taylor-Taylor; “That’s what the world needs more than ever right now. I’ve never felt so strongly that people are losing their minds, and it’s more of them than ever before. Local politics, international politics, news programs, sitcoms, and our president all feel like the heat got turned up. It doesn’t feel like a natural progression of insanity, it just happened. Most people are behaving in a manner that can only be described as batshit crazy.”
To help counter the insanity, The Dandy Warhols are hitting the road in 2019. European/UK dates will stop in Antwerp, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London. North American dates will bring them to Atlanta, Washington, Boston, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.
Keyboardist Zia McCabe can’t help but wonder about the complications of building a set list around an entire career as opposed to an individual album; “Oh man, how are we going to fit something from each album into our set? Don’t worry, we’ll figure it out and it will be legendary. Get ready for a massive concussion of rock and roll that’s been a quarter of a century in the making.”

Courtney Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar)

The vision that I have for this site was that I was getting weary of sites that evolve from the original message to what I refer to as "tabloid magazine stand at the grocery store checkouts" kind of sites. My heart is with the underground bands and for the bands/artists that strive to hit that dream, and they spend thousands of dollars on equipment just to play a $100 show! Please contact me and I will review you. I promise to bring you quality news, interviews, and reviews. I have a master's degree and the madness that you're creating in your art is what I'm passionate about! Feel free to contact me, I respond to all emails and to all comments on here!
