Alternative pop singer/songwriter DEMAR partnered up with Charles Fauna for a remix of her single “Fire”. Listen exclusively via Earmilk. “I always thought because of the intense emotion ‘Fire’ evokes, it could be presented in more ways than one and still bring you into that moment,” DEMAR describes. “Charles’ remix gives me chills and in my opinion, gives an entirely new life to the song.” “Fire” originally appeared on DEMAR’s debut EP Rebels, released in October 2017. DEMAR is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Miami, FL. Her love of music started at a young age, writing her first song at 8 years old and eventually teaching herself guitar and piano. Led by the pursuit of expanding her musical knowledge and ability, she moved to London and immersed herself in the music scene. Here, she found her sound and direction as an artist.
After returning to the United States when her visa expired, DEMAR made her way to New York City, where she firmly planted herself in the independent music scene. Her first two releases–“Rebels” and a cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools (Drank)”–generated over two million streams on Spotify and lead to features on notable outlets including AXS.
For her debut EP Rebels, DEMAR worked with a number of different creators including artist/producer Ben Hobbs, Richard Gottehrer and Matt Wilbur, at Vanguard Room Studios owned by Copeland’s Aaron Marsh. Following the release of the EPin October 2017, DEMAR was praised for her strong vocals and passionate lyrics, with Brightest Young Things calling her “one you’re going to want to throw on heavy rotation in your headphones.” Likewise, DEMAR’s “emotionally-charged electropop” (PopMatters) landed her gigs with artists like Howie Day, Ryan Cabrera and Jake Miller, and propelled her to #5 most added on the NACC Top 30 chart following the EP release.
