Mat Kearney is thrilled to be returning to NBC’s TODAY Show on Wednesday, March 14th to perform new single “Kings & Queens” during the 10AM hour with Kathie Lee and Hoda. That same day fans will be able to pre-order Kearney’s new album CRAZYTALK – which is slated for official release on May 4th via Tomorrow Music/Caroline.
The Nashville based, Oregon born platinum songwriter is primed for a huge 2018 with the release of CRAZYTALK – his fifth full-length studio album and first as a completely independent artist. The 13-song album finds Kearney combining his knack for incredible songwriting with cutting edge production. Some of the sonic expansion heard on CRAZYTALK is thanks to Kearney’s desire to collaborate with producers that have been exciting him lately including AFSHeeN (Galantis,Madonna, Selena Gomez) who worked on opening track “Better Than I Used To Be” as well as “Keep On Loving You,” and “I Can’t Wait For You To Get Here.” Kearney also joined forces withGrammy Award winning producer and remixer RAC on “Memorized” and reunited with Austrian producer and Ultra Music recording artist filous for the song “Changes.” Kearney collaborated on filous’ 2017 For Love EP that resulted in the hit “Goodbye” that has streamed more the 20 MILLION times and filous is currently opening for Kearney on his sold-out US headlining tour.
For lead single “Kings & Queens,” Kearney chose to collaborate with Judah & the Lion’s Judah Akers. The two first met years ago when Kearney took the then up-and-coming band out on his Just Kids album tour in 2015. Sharing a love for genre-bending, Kearney and Akers along with Grammy Award winning writer/producer David Garcia made one of the catchiest songs on the album.
“Kings & Queens” entered the Hot AC chart in the Top 40 and is already climbing as Kearney makes his way around the US on his first headlining tour of 2018 – remaining dates below. Over his career,Kearney has released four LPs, claimed the #1 spot on iTunes, topped multiple Billboard charts, made four entries into the Hot 100 and amassed over 220MM streams. He’s excited to add to that legacy with CRAZYTALK and a track-listing that boasts some of his most exciting songs to date.
