Madness To Creation Sounding Off: Never Forgetting Warped Tour Because of Amazing Vocalists, like Ashley Costello of New Years Day!

The second part of the “Looking Back on Warped Tour” series features New Years Day and Ashley Costello.  It is absolutely not every day where a frontperson simply captivates one’s attention through their stage presence and vocals.  Ashley Costello of New Years Day certainly did that with her mesmerizing stage presence and her amazingly beautiful looks along with a versatile voice that sounded sweet and serene in one breath, and sounded shrilling in the next breath.  New Years Day had a crazy stage presence combining their gothic look, crazy stage antics, and the ability to hold the audience in the palm of their hand.

I also saw New Years Day open up for Halestorm and Starset on the “Halloween Scream” tour, and while I was into them, some of the audience weren’t into them, then again Iowa can be quite a tough crowd.  I feel that their niche is with the Warped Tour and festival crowd.

Here is the setlist that New Years Day had:

  1.  I’m No Good
  2.  Kill Or Be Killed
  3.  Other Side
  4.  Malevolence
  5.  Angel Eyes
  6.  Defame Me

The vision that I have for this site was that I was getting weary of sites that evolve from the original message to what I refer to as "tabloid magazine stand at the grocery store checkouts" kind of sites. My heart is with the underground bands and for the bands/artists that strive to hit that dream, and they spend thousands of dollars on equipment just to play a $100 show! Please contact me and I will review you. I promise to bring you quality news, interviews, and reviews. I have a master's degree and the madness that you're creating in your art is what I'm passionate about! Feel free to contact me, I respond to all emails and to all comments on here! I am an open book! If you see a suggestion on how to improve the site, please make me aware of it! This is YOUR site. I am also in search of writers!
