“Shake The Cage” by Freddie Nelson, time capsule time! Plus check out his killer medley of Queen hits here!

Freddie Nelson

Recently, Freddie Nelson released “Shake The Cage”.  He is a internationally recognized record producer who is a virtuoso in virtually every instrument that can be heard on this record.  It takes you back to the 70’s and 80’s where the guitars were louder, the harmonies and melodies were succinct yet powerful, and where it was songs about love, having a good time, and feeling a little blue on occasion.  It was songs where you can let your hair down, let your hair(or in my case, what’s left of it) blow through as you roll the windows down out in that open road.  I just want to share a couple of videos off of “Shake The Cage”, the first one is called “Hey Doll”.

“Hey Doll” by Freddie Nelson

A fun fact about this video, Freddie converted a room in his house to create this.  He did the entire treatment.  The simplicity of this video really highlights the production value of the music as well as Freddie’s soulful crooning, sleek guitar playing that reminds people of the blues and classic rock of yesteryear, combined with the songwriting makes this song a breath of fresh air in today’s polluted radio waves.

“Light” lyric video by Freddie Nelson

“The light was always shining on you”, croons Freddie Nelson in this blues tinged song where the harmonies have some definite oldies/doo wop influence, where I picture the jacket slung back behind the man’s back, he starts crooning this song to that wallflower and she is swept off of her feet on that prom night.  I love the effects of this lyric video that reminds me of those neon signs of yesteryear.

In essence, this should entice you to pick up “Shake The Cage” by Freddie Nelson.  It is a solid 9 out of 10 star album based upon the production value, the musicianship, and the melodies that Freddie Nelson offers are second to none.  America, it’s time to awaken from your slumber let Freddie Nelson wake you up out of that deep slumber.

I just happened to stumble across this, and I thought it was Queen doing an acoustic versions of “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and I realized it was Freddie Nelson.  Needless to say, consider mind blown!
