Shot at the band’s warehouse/defacto party space, in an industrial part of Torrance, and directed by bassist Chris Graue (who also plays in the Maxies), “Face On” features several cameos from an assortment of LA music scene players.
The track is also the debut of new guitarist Greg Wilmot (who many may recognize as a former video game YouTube celebrity).
Oh, and about that band name, Front man Kaleb Davies explains, “I came up with it when I was 12 years old and listening to a lot of indie rock. Back in the day when you tagged indie music on your computer, there wasn’t a name for the genre, so it would pop up as 131 by default. All of my favorite bands were marked 131 in my music library, so when I started the band, I thought, ‘131ers’ and it stuck, which is awful.”
Guitar and Vocals: Kaleb Davies
Drums: Ryan Dawson
Bass: Chris Graue
Guitar: Greg Wilmot
Watch for The 131ers new album to be released later this year.
About The 131ers:
Best friends, college dropouts, and mildly obsessed with Daisy Ridley. Well, Kaleb is anyway. The 131ers are from Torrance, California and play indie-folk-pop-rock that frequently draws comparisons to “classic Americana.” We’re not sure what that means, but we like it.
The band records all their music in their home-built studio and produces their own music videos. A little bit of their blood, sweat, and tears can be found in everything they produce. But not literally, because that would be gross.
