Song of the Day: “Spoonman” by Soundgarden

I grew up listening to the likes of Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and this band out of Seattle, Washington, Soundgarden.  What a horrible way to wake up, when a singer that you looked up to as a musician and as a songwriter passed away after a Soundgarden concert in Detroit, Michigan.  I will forever be listening to the music of Soundgarden through a different lens.  Chris Cornell had power and soul in his voice, yet there was a sense of vulnerability and anguish in his voice.  I will always adore this song!  If you’re reading this, please go get the help that you need if you’re suffering from depression or suicidal thoughts.  If you need to contact me through here, please do.  I will always make the time for my readers.  You are never alone in this world.  With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, rest in peace and power Chris Cornell.
